Talking about the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon is referring to one of those projects that make us particularly excited at the agency. After many years, After continues to accompany the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and SD Correcaminos in one of the most important sports events in the world, and that is a source of pride.
This time, it has not been different: 33,000 runners gathered at 8:15 last sunday at the Plaça de la Marató to cover those 42 kilometers that run through the most emblematic points of the city of Turia, such as the Serranos Towers, the North Station, and the City Hall Square. If something characterizes this popular race, it is that it surpasses itself year after year.
In this edition, 26,251 runners reached the finish line, located at the Hemisfèric Lake of the City of Arts and Sciences, and several records were broken: Sisay Lemma’s circuit record with 2h01:48, and two other Spanish records: Tariku Novales (2h05:48) and Majida Maayouf (2h21:27). Lemma also smashed the event record, signing the fourth-best marathon time in the world’s history.
42K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso, The Race To Be
Valencia doesn’t settle for being the World Design Capital, the Goya Awards’s host, and many other things. Now, Forbes has chosen this city as the Best Place To Live. With this premise on the table, the creative team of the agency supported the Marathon in developing the concept “The Race To Be,” as the 42K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso is one of the fastest marathons in history, the best in Spain, and holds the Platinum World Athletics Label. If Valencia is the city to live in, the Marathon is the race to be at least once in a lifetime.
And precisely because the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon is not just any race and has positioned itself as the ultimate runner’s destination – Valencia, the City of Running – After collaborated with the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation and SD Correcaminos to boost an outdoor campaign to communicate the celebration of this great event. To achieve this, the names of some emblematic monuments in the city were changed to create postcards that will be available in some souvenir shops in the city center. Thus, we will find mementos of the City of Arts and Goals, the Plaza de Ánimos, or the Palau de los Récords.
A solidarity race
This 43rd edition of the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon will be, as always, a solidarity race. On this occasion, the organization that will receive support is the Ronald McDonald House, to which the runners have voluntarily contributed 26,394 euros. Additionally, the Z Zurich Foundation will donate 1 euro for every runner who crosses the finish line.
